A regional approach to address the bushmeat problem in Eastern Africa

Uganda Wildlife Authority

As part of the Bushmeat-free Eastern Africa Network’s commitment to supporting regional wildlife institutions, BEAN provided the Ministry of Wildlife Conservation and Tourism (MWCT) with 5 GPS units, 6 cameras, 3 hard drives and 5 modems to document bushmeat and law enforcement activities. This equipment will help support prosecutions of criminals by documenting seizures and providing equipment for communications and database development. BEAN founding member Isaac Seme who handed over the equipment, is the principal of the Boma Wildlife Training Center for MWCT and has been the main voice in South Sudan on the bushmeat crisis.
